Kansas City Chiefs shock the football world with the announcement of Tom Brady as their new head coach, stepping in for the legendary Andy Reid.
Brady said that he thought Reid handled the moment well. Throughout Brady’s career, he’s been in moments like Sunday’s altercation and recognizes that it happens sometimes.
“Of course, I don’t mind seeing it. You know, ’cause I was a part of a lot of those things,” Brady said. “You’re thinking, emotions are so high. You’re definitely not centered and balanced. You’re not in a meditative state at that point. You are fully determined to go after and to win, so I think a lot of things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back.””And I actually think Coach Reid handled it just awesome like he always does,” Brady said. “‘Cause he just said you know, ‘I was a little off balance and, you know, Travis is such a competitor and I just love that because it speaks to, you know, his leadership ability.’ ‘Cause some coaches would get so sensitive and all you embarrassed me and you did that. And man, you know, you’re a competitor, you’re an athlete. And you get out there and you’ve had the credibility that Travis has and you’ve had that All-Pro experience and you’ve won Super Bowls.”
Brady believes that Reid’s ability to forget about the heated moment and stay focused on the game speaks to his character. Reid is a veteran coach and knows what it takes to win, and he knew he couldn’t take the moment personally.
