Reese Witherspoon Reportedly Has a New Financier Boyfriend, unfortunately…

Reese Witherspoon and Oliver Haarmann are out of the friend zone. After sources shared that the actress and the financier were just friends and keeping things low-key, multiple sources told People today that they’ve taken their relationship to the next level. The publication reports that the two were seen together for the second time about a month after attending an event with Assouline, a book publisher. The publication shared photos of the two together, with Witherspoon wearing a black dress and her new beau wearing khaki-colored pants and a blue button-up, in true finance bro fashion.

While Witherspoon hasn’t said anything about the possible new romance, sources close to her shared that things are “casual.”

“They’re friends and it’s just casual,” an insider said.

Haarmann is the co-owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders and a founding partner of Searchlight Capital. Witherspoon was previously married to Jim Toth and the two announced their separation in March 2023. They were married for nearly 12 years.

Before last night’s outing, Witherspoon and Haarmann were seen in the West Village at L’Artusi and they reportedly made their way into the city via helicopter. At the end of July, insiders said that Reese was “taking things slow when it comes to dating” and that she and Haarmann were “friends.”

“She enjoys it but doesn’t want it to be a big focus. She’s busy with work and her son,” a source said at the time. “These are her biggest priorities.”

Witherspoon opened up about how her divorce from Toth differed from her first divorce from ex Ryan Phillippe. She noted that now that she’s older and more established, she’s allowed to share the narrative that feels right to her and not feel pressured by outside influences.

“To be able to talk to people directly about what’s going on in my life and just share it in the way that I share great professional experiences or personal experiences,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “It feels much more authentic to be able to say things in my own voice and not let somebody else control what’s happening. Then, of course, there’s speculation, but I can’t control that. All I can do is be my most honest, forthright self and be vulnerable.”
