Patrick Mahomes confesses struggles at home: Christmas isn’t as picture-perfect as it seems
The Mahomes household is abuzz with holiday cheer as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his family navigate the festive season.
Fresh off clinching another AFC West title, the star QB revealed that balancing his demanding NFL schedule with holiday traditions and parenting isn’t always a smooth ride.
Mahomes faces toughest Holiday opponent yet
Speaking on 96.5 The Fan’s podcast, The Drive, Mahomes admitted his struggle to find time for Christmas movies with his growing family.
“I haven’t yet, you know. We have a busy schedule, and I haven’t gotten to see any Christmas movies, but [I] wanna make sure to show some of the younger ones, for my kids,” he shared.
Mahomes’ daughter, Sterling, has recently begun taking an interest in television, which has introduced a new parenting dilemma.
“They’re too young. I mean, they don’t necessarily have [a favorite movie] they love or not. But I think this year, my daughter is, like, kind of getting into, like, TV shows. We try to keep her away from them, but she likes some. And so hopefully, we can find some Christmas-spirited ones that she might like to watch,”Mahomes explained.
Sterling and her younger brother, Bronze, have been at the center of the Mahomes family’s relatable parenting tales this holiday season.
Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, recently shared a humorous story on Instagram about their two-year-old son’s less-than-enthusiastic encounter with Santa Claus.
While Bronze avoided a tearful meltdown, he refused to sit on Santa’s lap, only cracking a smile once safely away from the festive figure.
“Of course, he was smiley and in a great mood once he wasn’t close to Santa ,” Brittany joked.
Despite these holiday hiccups, the Mahomes family is embracing the season with plenty of joy.
Earlier this week, the family of four enjoyed a trip to the ice skating rink, with Patrick and Brittany documenting sweet moments of Sterling and Bronze’s attempts to skate.
With a third child on the way, the Mahomes crew is gearing up for even more memorable milestones in 2024.
Balancing football fame and family life may be challenging, but Patrick and Brittany are cherishing the journey together.
