The actor, 58, who shares Hailey, 27 with wife Kennya Baldwin, shared a video of himself smiling at the camera before uttering: ‘I love you’ and staring into the distance.
He captioned the video: ‘Today, staying positive is a choice !! so I’m trusting in the power of joy, peace, and happiness. Finally if anyone hasn’t told you today, I LOVE YOU.’
Fans were quick to call out the timing of the video’s release – with one writing: ‘Sadly your daughter don’t love you. your [sic] embarrassing her.’ while another typed: ‘Your daughter is ashamed of you.’
Others lauded the star for spreading positivity with one writing: ‘I needed this. Thanks buddy!’ and ‘Stephen that felt very genuine and sincere… so gonna send some right back to you and I throw some positivity sprinkles on top.’
This comes after Hailey told W magazine that she is not as close to her birth family these days as she expects her first child with husband Justin Bieber.
Hailey is also the niece of actor Alec Baldwin, who is starring in a new reality TV show with wife Hilaria. Her cousin is Guess model Ireland Baldwin whose mother is movie star Kim Basinger.
The pal of Kendall Jenner does not really see much of her famous family these days, she noted during her cover interview.
‘I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent. I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family,’ she said of being married to pop king Justin.
But the blonde added she has ‘fond’ memories of her childhood.
She told the magazine: ‘I had a fairly normal childhood. Obviously, I come from the family that I come from, and I always recognized that that was different.
‘But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.’
The Rhode founder started to build her career on the catwalk towards the end of her teen years and reflected that was a time that she had to learn to stand on her own two feet while all her friends were venturing off to higher education.
