Taylor Swift stuns fans with surprise announcement on GMA to commemorate Eras Tour
Taylor Swift has announced she is releasing her first ever book commemorating her historic Eras tour, featuring never-before-seen photos from over 100 shows, as well as the chance for fans to own The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology on vinyl and CD.
Good Morning America host Lara Spencer confirmed the news on Tuesday and said the 256-page hardcover book will feature over 500 images, including performance photos from every era as well as exclusive rehearsal photos and behind-the-scenes images of instruments, costumes, set pieces and designer sketches used throughout the tour.
According to GMA, the Shake It Off singer described the upcoming book as the ‘official retrospective of the most wonderful tour of her life,’ and will cost $39.99.
Taylor also shared a video on Instagram announcing the news and told her fans: ‘We’ll be kicking off the final leg of The Eras Tour this week, which is hard to comprehend.
This tour has been the most wondrous experience and I knew I wanted to commemorate the memories we made together in a special way. Well, two ways actually.
‘Excited to announce that The Official Eras Tour Book, filled with my own personal reflections, never-before-seen behind the scenes photos, all the magical memories you guys brought every single night AND …. The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology on vinyl and CD will all be available for the first time ever only at @target.’
She confirmed it would be available starting November 29 and added: ‘International info coming soon!’ for the rest of her fans across the globe.
Upon hearing the news, Swifties rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their excitement as one person predicted: ‘She will be conquering the book industry next!
‘This will be a hit!’ a second fan wrote, while a third posted: ‘Can’t wait to read all the pages,’ and a fourth added: ‘No way, can’t wait to read all the tea!’
Someone else posted: ‘Everything is about to go DOWNNNNN for a book. I genuinely love the chaos Taylor Swift causes,’ while a different person said: ‘This is so funny bc a tour book and a vinyl release is a classic taylor swift move. Like it was actually the most expected announcement.’
The news comes just days before Taylor continues her tour on October 18 with three shows at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida, before she heads to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans and then Indianapolis.
The Eras Tour commenced on March 17 last year in Glendale, Arizona, and will conclude on December 8 in Vancouver.
The epic tour consists of 149 shows that span five continents and is the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first tour in history to surpass US$1 billion in revenue.
Before heading out on the road again, Taylor has been making the most of being able to spend quality time with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, and on Monday, the couple enjoyed a date night at Yankee Stadium as they watched New York beat the Cleveland Guardians 5-2 in the MLB playoffs.
The pair braved a chilly night in The Bronx to watch the Yankees attempt to edge closer to the World Series against Travis’ hometown Guardians.
The couple sat together in a suite down the right-field line with Taylor opting to wear a baseball cap and her trademark red lip as she giggled with Travis and a friend.
