World No. 1 Iga Swiatek will be partnering with Hubert Hurkacz to represent Poland at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Hurkacz revealed on social media. The news has come as a delight to tennis fans who will be excited to see the performances of what is on paper one of the strongest mixed doubles partnerships in the world. The two previously partnered in January for the United Cup and spoke about their mutual admiration and how compatible they were as a duo.
The Summer Olympics will begin on July 26, 2024 and will end on August 11. The Games will be held in the French capital – Paris and will feature five categories for tennis: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The matches will be played on clay at Roland Garros.
The news of the duo was confirmed on Sunday by Hurkacz, who said, “Yes, we will play Olympics mixed doubles with Iga!”
