Whoopi Goldberg makes shocking revelation about her parents in new memoir

Whoopi Goldberg has recently opened up about being raised by her single mother as her father abandoned his family.

In her new memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me, Whoopi revealed her mother Emma Harris “didn’t talk about the marriage ending because she stayed married to him until the day he passed, nor do I think she ever thought of it as a failure,” via The Sun.The View host made shocking revelation about her father’s sexuality in her memoir, as she wrote, “It turns out that my dad was gay. Which couldn’t have been easy either.”

However, Whoopi recalled when she later asked her mom how she knew about his sexuality, she didn’t divulge too much.

The Sister Act actress, whose real name is Caryn Johnson, mentioned she grew up with her mother and older brother Clyde K. Johnson, who later passed away from a brain aneurysm in 2015 at the age of 65.
